Dr. Altman, a board certified optometric physician, is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of anterior eye disease, refractive vision care and contact lenses. Dr. Altman performs foreign body removal, treats eye infections, dry eye syndrome, allergies, inflammations, glaucoma, macular degeneration and performs diabetic eye disease evaluations. Methods of treatment include topical or oral medications and removal of metallic foreign bodies.
University Eye Care uses the latest in wide field high resolution retinal photography, The Eidon Camera. The Eidon Camera enables us to better visualize retinal issues with our patients. The camera takes both true color and infrared photos. This camera gives the doctor a much better ability to image through cataracts and other opacities.
Primary Eye Care includes a comprehensive vision and eye health examination. This examination is designed to detect a wide range of problems affecting vision function, such as blurred vision or eye discomfort.
Evaluations for eye health disorders are also performed. The American Optometric Association recommends a comprehensive eye examination every one to two years depending on ones particular needs.
